Panthers Fall in Fourth Round
Lee County held the Panthers to one run on 8 hits for a 2-1 victory in round four of the NCHSAA state
playoffs. James Cunningham (6-1) gave up only one earned run, pitching 7 seven innings, and suffering his first loss
of the the season. The Panthers finished the season with a 22-5 record and their third straight conference championship.

The Orange High
baseball team traveled to Fayetteville to take on Terry Sanford HS on Tuesday. The Panthers prevailed in 8 innings with
a comeback win. Bryse Wilson went the distance allowing just 2 hits and striking out 10. Terry Sanford took a 1-0 lead
on two doubles in the 4th inning. The Panthers tied the game in the 6th on lead-off hit by Eric Compton, a hit-by-pitch by
Cole Campanile, a sac-bunt by Cameron Mehl and a sac fly by Brad Debo. In the top of the 8th Orange finally took the lead
when Johnny Flynn reached on an error, and Chandler Compton sacrificed Flynn to second. Cameron Mehl hit one down the line
off the third-baseman to score Flynn. Wilson pitched a 1-2-3 bottom half, striking out the las t two batters.
Orange will host Lee County Friday night at 7:00 in Round

Panthers Top Pirates 5-4 in 11 Innings
Almost 3 1/2 hours and 11 innings later the Orange High
baseball team left Cornith Holders with a 5-4 victory. It was an intense, emotional game with many momentum swings.
James Cunningham started on the mound for the Panthers and pitched 7 innings, striking out 6. Cunningham left with the
scored tied and Landon Riley took over for the next 4 innings earning the win. The Pirates went ahead 2-0 in the 4th.
The Panthers answered back in the 5th on 3-run homerun by Brad Debo. Orange added a run in the 6th when Eli Lockwood
scored on an error. The Pirates scored two in the bottom of the 7th to tie. In the top of the 11th Johnny Flynn
singled to lead off the inning. Chandler Compton sac bunted Flynn to second. Cameron Mehl singled to centerfield
to score Flynn with the go ahead run. Riley then pitched a 1-2-3 bottom to send the Panthers to Round 3 of the playoffs.
Orange Wins 1st Round Game Over Triton
Bryse Wilson pitched a complete game shutout, striking out 6, for his eight win of the season.
Braden Weber put the Panthers on the board first with a bases loaded triple in the third inning. Brad Debo added
a 2-run homer in the fifth for the 5-0 margin. Orange will travel to Corinth Holders on Saturday. Game time 7:00
Gibbons take No. 1 Seed from Big 8 with 7-5 Win over

Bryse Wilson pitched a complete game and struckout 8 to improve to 7-2. With a victory Orange clinched a share
of the Big 8 Conference championship with Cardinal Gibbons. Bredan Weber had a 2 RBI double in the 1st inning that proved
to be the difference in a pitchers' duel. Cody Evans an insurance run advancing home on a wild pitch.
The Panthers finish the regular season 19-3 and 13-1 in the Big 8 Conference.

James Cunningham pitched a 6-inning complete game
allowing only 1 hit and strikingout 4. Cunningham improved to 6-0. Cameron Mehl went 3-4. Bryse Wilson and
Eric Compton each had 3 RBI. Eli Lockwood was 2-3.
Panthers 18 Warriors 0
The Orange baseball team scored 18 runs on 16 hits is Saturday's win over Webb. Alex Lozano
struckout 4 in 3 innings to earn the win. Braden Weber hit 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI on the day. Bryse Wilson,
Chandler Compton and Eli Lockwood had mulitple hits. Brad Debo, Cole Campanile and Wilson each drove in 2 runs. The
Panthers improved to 17-3, 11-1 in the Big 8.
Orange Wins 7-0 at Webb
Bryse Wilson hurled a complete game shutout and struck-out 14 Warriors in Oxford. Wilson
also helped his own cause by belting 2 solo homeruns. Eric Compton went 3-3 on the day. Cameron Mehl, Braden Weber,
Austin Skyes and Ryan Puckett drove in runs. Orange will take on Heritage in non-conference action on Wednesday and
take on Webb again on Friday. both games are at Orange.
Orange Earns Big Win at Northwood 8-2
James Cunningham pitched a complete game to improve to 5-0 on the year. Cunningham allowed 2 runs on 5 hits
and struckout six. Garrett Cloer was 3-4 with one RBI. Braden Weber and Eli Lockwood were 2-4. Weber knocked in two and Lockwoood
had 1 RBI. Chandler Compton was 1-2 with 2 RBI. Bryse Wilson and Cameron Mehl also had RBI hits. The Panthers
remain tied for first in the Big 8 with a 9-1 record.
Orange Knocks Off Northwood 10-0
Bryse Wilson struck-out
7 and gave up only 1 hit in 5 innings as Orange took a big conference game against the Chargers. Austin Sykes hit a
2-run homer in the first inning as Orange put 4 runs on the board early. Garrett Cloer was 3-3 on the evening. Brad
Debo and Eli Lockwood had 2 hits each. Braden Weber and Wilson had 2 RBI each. Orange improves to 13-3 and 8-1 in the
Big 8. The Panthers are at Northwood Friday.
Panther Win 1-0 at Northern Vance
Derek Lindaman (2-0) pitched 6 solid innings allowing only 3 hits. Landon Riley earned his 3rd saved finishing the
game. Brad Debo knocked in Garrett Cloer for the winning run.
Panthers Fight Tigers to the Finish
The Orange baseball team took a 10-4 lead to the bottom of the 7th inning and hung on for a 10-8 win.
James Cunningham improved to 4-0 with 6 innings pitched allowing 4 runs on 10 hits. Landon Riley came into the
game in the 7th to earn a save. Brad Debo had 2 hits and knocked in 3 runs. Garrett Cloer and Braden Weber also
had 2 hits. Chandler Compton was 1-3 with 2 RBI. Bryse Wilson hit a 2-run homer to give the Panthers a lead in
the 1st inning. The Panthers improved to 6-1 in the Big 8 and 11-3 overall.
Orange 3 Chapel Hill 0
Big 8 and county rivals Orange and Chapel Hill hooked up Tuesday
evening and the Panthers prevailed 3-0. Bryse Wilson pitched a complete game shutout to improve to 4-2 on the season.
Wilson allowed 4 hits, struckout 8 and walked only one. Wilson also helped his own cause with a solo homerun in
the 6th inning. Braden Weber also hit a solo homer in the 4th. Wilson and Weber were 2-3. Cameron Mehl and
Eli Lockwood went 2-2. Chandler Compton scored the Panthers' first run in the 3rd when Compton led off the inning with
a single. Mehl bunted him to second. Compton moved to third on a Garrett Cloer groundout to the right side and
scored on a wild pitch. Orange is 10-3 and 5-1 in the Big 8.
Panthers Take Two from Southern Durham
Orange defeated the Spartans last Thursday and Friday 25-2 and 8-4. Derek Lindaman
erned his first varsity win pitching 3 innings in the 5-inning game 1. James Cunningham improved to 3-0 on the season
pitching 6 innings on Friday allowing no runs. Brad Debo, Garrett Cloer, Jamiel Jordan, Johnny Flynn, Landon Riley and Joey
Ricca all had multiple hits in game one. Johnny Flynn and Eli Lockwood had multiple hits in game 2. The Panthers
improved to 9-3 and 4-1 in the Big 8.
Gibbons Downs Panthers 3-1
Cardinal Gibbons avenged an early season loss to Orange, dropping the Panthers to 2-1 in the Big 8 Conference. Gibbons
pitcher Brian Nelson held Orange to 4 hits. Alex Lozano had a solo homerun for the only Panther run. Orange is
now 7-3 overall.
Panthers Go 2-1 in Hilltop Invitational
The 12th Annual Hilltop Tournament was held April 2, 3 and 4. Orange hosted 6 of the 21 games
in the tournament. On Thursday the Panthers played Topsail, the defending 3A State Champions. In the pitchers' duel Topsail
prevailed 3-1. Bryse Wilson took the mound opposite Topsail ace Clark Cota and neither pitcher disappointed. Wilson
struck-out 8, while Cota struck-out 10 as at least 10 professional scouts watched this match-up. On Friday the Panther
offense got back on track with an 11-4 win over Tallmadge Ohio. Orange got key hits and RBI by Garrett Cloer, Brad Debo,
Braden Weber and Austin Sykes. James Cunningham (2-0) pitched 4-plus innings for the win. Saturday's game with
West Forsyth was a come from behind victory as the Panthers went down 6-0 early but battled back for a 12-9 win. Garrett
Cloer had a 3-run homerun. Braden Weber and Eric Compton had multiple hits and multiple RBI. Eli Lockwood also
drove in 2 runs. Alex Lozano earned the win in relief and Landon Riley got his 2nd save on the season. Miles Acosta
also pitched 3 strong innings in relief. The Panthers are 7-2 on the season.
Orange 6 Cardinal Gibbons 2
Cardinal Gibbons took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning on a hit batter, two singles
and a steal of home. That was the last run to cross the plate as Bryse Wilson would scatter 3 hits over the next 6 innings.
Wilson improved to 3-0 notching 10 strikeouts and allowing only on walk. The Panthers answered in the second inning
with 4 runs on a walk and 4 hits. Wilson would deliver a big 2-out single to drive in two runs. Garrett Cloer,
who was 2-3, also knocked in a run in the second. Pinch runner Cody Evans scored in the 5th on a wild pitch. In
the sixth inning Brad Debo singled and courtesy runner Joey Ricca scored on an Austin Sykes single. Chandler Compton
was 2-4 for the Panthers. Orange improved to 5-1 and 2-0 in the Big 8.
Panthers Rally to Win in Extra Innings
The Orange baseball team defeated East Chapel Hill with a dramatic
comeback in the eight inning. The Panthers scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th innning to tie the game at 5-5. In
the bottom of the 8th Eli Lockwood reached on an error and advanced to second when the throw went into the Panther dugout.
Landon Riley put down a sacrifice which was misplayed allowed Lockwood to score the winning run. Miles Acosta
earned the win pitching in relief. Brad Debo homered to bring the Panthers within striking distance and Bryse Wilson
knocked in the tying run. Orange improves to 4-1.
JV Panthers Knock off East Chapel Hill 8-6

The Panthers won their Big 8 conference opener over a young, scrappy
Northern Vance team Tuesday afternoon. Bryse Wilson took the mound for his second start of the year. Wilson pitched 6 innings
allowing 3 hits and striking out 13. Landon Riley pitched the seventh working his way out of a jam with 3 strikeouts. The
Panthers took a 3-0 lead in the first inning as Austin Sykes drove two runs with a single to leftfield. Chandler Compton double
in a run in the fifth. Orange moves to 3-1 and 1-0 in the Big 8.
Holly Springs 6 Orange 4
The Panthers traveled to Holly Springs to take on the Golden Hawks. Orange battled back form
an early 6-1 deficit with a 3-run homer by Bryse Wilson. Brad Debo knocked in the Panther run. The Panthers had
two runners on in the top of the 7th and the go-ahead run at the plate but could not capitalize. Orange falls to 2-1
and Holly Springs is now 2-1.
Panthers Come Out
Fighting, Off to a 2-0 Start
The varsity
baseball team defeated Northern Durham Monday 5-0 and Riverside on Tuesday 6-4.
After a two week delay due to winter weather, baseball season has finally begun for Orange High School.
Bryse Wilson took the mound for the Panthers against Northern and pitched 5 innings, striking out 6 for the win. Austin Sykes
powered the Orange offense with a 3-run homer. Brad Debo and Braden Weber also knocked in runs for the Panthers. On Tuesday
James Cunningham earned the victory allowing only one hit in 4 1/3 innings. Alex Lozano pitched 1 2/3 innings and Landon
Riley pitched the 7th inning for his first save. Offensively Austin Sykes delivered another blow with a 3-run homer
in the first inning. Brad Debo drove in 2 runs. Cameron Mehl was 2-3 in the game.
